STAGES IN FORMATION
ASPIRANCY: This stage in the religious life will last for one year. Our candidates shall spend this stage with her parents. The formation mistress shall organise a day recollection in the convent, every second Sunday of the month.
POSTULANCY: The first stage of formation, is a period of living in community, whereby the candidate experiences our way of life and prepares for entrance into the novitiate. The postulant’s knowledge of Catholic doctrine, the vowed life, our charism, apostolate and spirituality are fostered during this period according to the Directory of Formation. The postulancy program is for a period of six to twelve months. (3 months for the ex-postulants from another congregation).NOVICIATE: The second stage of formation, constitutes the indispensable foundation of all formation. It should be dedicated solely to instructing candidates thoroughly and soundly in the way of life of the Missionary sisters of the Miraculous Lady of Rose according to the Directory of Formation. Novices are to be progressively trained to engage in the various works of our Community, all the while cultivating that union with Christ which must be the wellspring of every apostolic activity. Come Follow Me…2 Cor 3:18).
-
Co-operation with God’s grace, silence and spiritual reading, Mariology, sociology studies and fidelity to prayer.
-
PERPETUAL PROFESSION: Trusting in God’s grace to sustain this lifelong commitment, the sisters totally consecrate themselves to God for the whole of their lives, an act which inspires and encourages their fellow sisters to renew their own commitment and dedication to God. It is proper that when a sister pronounces her perpetual vows, she should have reached the degree of spiritual and affective maturity required, so that the religious state to which she is committing herself, in a stable and certain manner, may really be for her a means of perfection and greater love, rather than a burden too heavy to carry.
